I found an interesting presentation by Deepak Nadig, a distinguished architect for eBay on modern day e-metrics.

He spoke recently at a Marketing Optimization Summit in San Jose (May 4 – 7, 2009) and highlighted how web 1.0 type page metrics are limiting given today’s page interactions that occur without changing a page.    If you follow his bio on the conference site – you don’t get much more information.  However, if you look up Deepak’s blog and then event post, you will find a copy of his 45 slide presentation.  🙂
